Vaccines Could Avert >500,000 Deaths Associated With Resistance

More than half a million lives from antimicrobial resistant (AMR) infections could be saved each year with the effective use of existing vaccines and continued development of new vaccines to tackle priority pathogens, according to a new study (BMJ Glob Health 2023;8:e011341). 

The study highlights the importance of preventive measures including vaccination in slowing and containing the spread of AMR, according to the World Health Organization.
